Community Projects
For more than 50 years, our members have donated their time and talents to helping others. We are proud of the many community projects the Lions have led and are grateful for the support of the Hanover community.

Can Trailer & Recycling
Recycle your aluminum cans in the Lions Can Trailer located in the parking lot next to the hockey rink and ball fields by Hanover City Hall at 11250 5th Street NE. We'll turn your cans into cash to help support community programs and organizations.
Picnic Tables for Hanover Elementary School
The Lions purchased and placed picnic tables at Hanover Elementary School so staff members have a comfortable outdoor place to relax during breaks. We are grateful for teachers and the investment they make in the future of our community.

Shelter House in Settlers Park
The shelter house in Settlers Park was built and funded by the Lions. Since 1982, it's been the center of countless community and private events.
American Flags
Through the years, we've purchased and donated American flags for the City of Hanover to decorate the town for special holidays including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.
Park Benches
In memory of past Lions members, we've donated park benches in the community to commemorate the hobbies our friends loved and the contributions they made to our community.

Hanover Welcome Signs
We partnered with a local scout on his Eagle Scout project to place the Hanover welcome signs. The project involved coordination with the City, agreement from landowners, and organizing materials and volunteers to help build and set the signs.
The Lions fully funded the cost of the four signs that welcome visitors to Hanover.

Lions Drinking Fountain
Brave the Lions mouth for a drink at Settlers Park. This friendly Lion is sure to bring a smile to you face!
Digital Signs for Elementary School
We helped the Hanover Elementary School by donating new equipment for their hallway communications system which is used for announcements and activities. We also partnered with the school and athletic association to purchase the new digital sign

Holiday Light Recycling
Each holiday season, we collect old holiday lights and recycle them for cash. Through the years, we've recycled more than 46,000 pounds - that's 23 tons we were able to save from landfills! The cash we earn is given back to the community though donations and support.
Thank you to Hanover Tom Thumb, Cub Foods in St. Michael and Buffalo, and Coborn's in Albertville and Buffalo for being collection sites.
Library Reading Chairs
To encourage and support young readers, we donated modular seating arrangements to the Hanover Elementary School library. These fun, comfortable, casual options are the perfect place to settle in and read.

Senior Holiday Lunch
It's the best lunch of the Holiday season! The Lions of Hanover, St. Michael, and Albertville team up to host the annual Senior Holiday Lunch each December. Area seniors are treated to a holiday meal and enjoy the great company.
